ARTHUR ROAD, WIMBLEDON (1)

Arthur Road, Wimbledon (Phase 1)

Following a referral from a previous client, Jude was invited to refresh several first-floor rooms within this large Wimbledon family home. The brief was to introduce an elegant sense of calm to the vaulted Principal Bedroom suite, while retaining the existing travertine bath and twin sinks. A characterful Guest Bedroom suite was created using the clients’ existing antiques and artwork, alongside a warm and inviting scheme for an additional Guest Bathroom centred around the original claw-foot bath.

Warmth and character run throughout. Soft blush pinks and deep russets define the Principal Bedroom, with textured wallpaper applied to both walls and vaulted ceiling to soften the architecture. A striking bronze pendant anchors the space, while gentle tones continue into the en-suite, complementing the bespoke vanity and existing travertine elements.

The Guest Bedroom scheme was led by the clients’ original curtain fabric, reworked into contemporary window treatments and layered with complementary textures to create a relaxed country feel. In the en-suite, floor-to-ceiling tongue-and-groove panelling softens the angular ceiling line, enhancing the room’s character.

The additional Guest Bathroom takes its cue from the original claw-foot bath, reimagined within a modern Victorian scheme. A bespoke vanity and lighting sit alongside Carrara-effect porcelain tiles, classic fittings and painted panelling, with a bold striped wallpaper and Roman blind adding a contemporary finish.
